An impressive career can conceal some of the darkest stories beneath. Lolo Jones, winner of USA and World hurdle championships has achieved this title after a long period of dedication and patience. Jones' childhood was difficult because she was the sole child of a mother in a large family. Her mother was constantly shifting and even was a resident in the basement. Jones was required to go to an entirely new high school every year due to her nomadic lifestyle. Jones who was interested in the track events in Theodore Roosevelt High School, was able to live far from her mother to follow her passion. Jones lived in four distinct homes during her time in high school, so she could complete her studies in the same place. Jones was part of both the Iowa School Orchestra as well as the Gatorade Track and Field Award. Also, she was awarded this prize in high school. Jones started her professional career at the college level as one of the best hurdlers. In 2002, at the NCAA Track & Field Championship she took home the hurdles 100 meters. In addition, she was a part of the team who finished second in the 100 meter relay. In 2003 and in 2004, Jones was the winner of the hurdles indoor event at the NCAA Championship. Jones' career began with the year 2005, after she finished her bachelor's degree. Jones began training to prepare to pursue a track career that would be successful. The same year, she won the Torino Memorial event, and in the year 2206 she took home the Ostrava track event as and the Heusden event for track.

Brandt is a child of the Cape Town region. She grew up within Cape Town South Africa with her parents and siblings, moved into Auckland New Zealand when she was in her teens. Discovered by local casting directors Brandt took on the role as Naevia in the Starz smashes Spartacus: Blood and Sand as well as Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. She was one of the most prominent actors in this series, working with Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi.
